Open Letter to @RealDLHughley @DLHughleyRadio and to All, but especially #BlackAmerica, concerning Hughley comments on #RealTime with @BillMaher #DNCSpecial on 7/27/16

Not that I give any credence to #Oreilly's dumb statement and insulting commentary, though I'd like to see him say it myself. It wld be the first time either party purposely misconstrued the words of one from the other party, but WE BOTH KNOW as Blacks, both then and now there are MANY slaves/under the thumb of society who'd take "#wellfed" over freedom, and trade morality, too. We called them Uncle Toms, right. Of course the same can be said for All Peoples and Races. Also, I like real history and facts. Even of what we do not know, conjecture and opinions shld come from what we do/can know. As with #BillO, I give Jefferson no pass for having slaves, at all. Especially being the author of the declaration of independence. But, just like now, politics played a lot in everything. If certain things werent done, allowed and supported by some, they would have never had any rule, influence or possibility to lead, leaving those really horrible, of soul, in control, only. Read some of the debates and historical conversations. Not all that came to the New Land seeking freedom was hypocritical when it came to slaves. The phrase "All men created equal" was not by accident. These were not dumb men. If they wanted to seal slavery, servitude, and 3/4 of a man, and many other rights and liberties and liberty period that wld eventually have to be extended and applied to All People, including Blacks, Indians, all Nationalities and Women, they cldve. They fully understood how Law expands using itself and how much wording matters. Dont remember if you're religious or not, but it is similar to the OT, whereby the same laws that made Israel dominant, in the NT, because they exist, now had to be applied to All People. God seeing the hardness of many hearts who wldve killed all others, until a right timeof in history more cld see that what they want, every man/person wants, and shld have. With all this said. I, again, give no pass to Jefferson for being a slave owner at all. But by both lineages accounts; descendants of Jefferson that were fully White, and that of Hemings and of mixed heritage with some considered Black and others White, even to this day, they had a real relationship and love affair, as best could be then. Also, consider these undisputed facts. Even though some dispute Jefferson fathered all 6 of Hemings kids, but only did 1, and others say all 6, Jefferson freed all 6 upon their age of maturity. And eventually Sally, too. And not only that, but while children and slaves, they lived in the mansion, thats all 6 with their mother and never did hard labor. They were bought up as aristocrats, learning to play the violin and other instruments, schooled and taught trades. That was unheard of then for any slave. If Jefferson treated every slave like this, then, though possible, it would be much harder to make the case that Hemings was nothing more than a slave and concubine. But the fact he did these things for this one woman and her children, along with all other facts, and it paints a picture. One can make the argument it was still bad. Yes. But the life of White Women/Wives, though better than Blacks, werent good ,either. And it seems that with the exception of an officially observed marriage, on par with a White wife, or close to that, did Sally Hemings have. It is so important that we view history as is, with no spin. No emotional, proud, hurt feelings, spin. Thats how we will have better tomorrows everytime. As for your "penny" comment. Im betting that one hundred years from now WE, Black Americans will still be talking about Martin, Malcolm and Mandela. Guaranteed. You said you, and WE (blacks and minorities ) love this country for what it cld be. Agreed. But the "could" is only because of what was, and most importantly, what was written. And those things were written by the very same men you think Republicans, and I guess All, shld forget and move on from. It wld equal forgetting Jesus and the 12 just cause much time has passed. Name one civil liberty won or civil right success that didnt come by way of the Constitution or Dec of Independance or other founding documents that contain the American Law, values and principles that must be applied to all? It frees us and each round makes us a little more closer to actually being equal in all respects, because it is already on paper. Not many Nations can say that. Many nations, based on their history and documentation cld not do or be what America is and must allow. Final point. Despise not small beginnings. Yes. Times were not as good to US as White America. But to say never is not quite accurate. It was the blue collar, factory cities in the 50s/60s/70s, like Cleveland and Detroit that allowed BOTH un or under educated Whites and Blacks enjoy a Middle Class, comfortable existence. Compared to other Blacks, these were Upper Middle Class. There were still problems, but there is a reason these places are more nearly all Black, now. There was work for them and good paying work. In addition, the 50s on were when musically and in the arts, Blacks were getting noticed, and thus our culture becoming less a subculture but part of the main stream fabric. With sports, too. Because of the need for sheer talent that cant be faked, it is in these spheres all minorities usually make break throughs and then extends out to science, medicine, business, etc. You cant acknowledge these successes then, including the Kings and Thurgood Marshalls, though only a handful and many others falling by the way side, and also say, America has never been good to us (blacks/minorities). May not been all we wanted and shld be, may be still not, but all things start with a seed, even it did for the hand full of whites that founded the Land called America. Speak truth Black man. But speak whole truth. Dont let emotions conveniently cause temporary blindness and dumbness, because if you/WE (blacks/minorities) do, the other may feel justified to do the same. Difficult to speak positively about people who owned your people and did much injustice. But there lies maturity, love, and a just heart worthy of the same and justice. Consider, Mr Hughley. Consider all. YK #TruthTellingKnowledgeablePolitician #Black #NativeAmerican #AmericaAdorer #AmericanThroughAndThrough PS: Wrote more than intended. Dont feel like editing. Do the best you can :)
