#NextNextFridaysMasses (2/10/23) Gn 3:1-8, Mk 7:31-37...
The most important things to know is the serpent isn't satan but used by him. Eve was already pondering breaking the one commandment...
1Jn 2:16: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
HOWEVER, all laws are according to conscience and understanding which God knows when it's your flesh disobeying the command and when the mind has out grew it in truth by faith and revelation.
How do you go from even this one prohibition to this...
1Cor 6:12: "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
This state is what we labor in to enter...
Heb 4:1-2,9-13: "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. … There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do."
Had Adam or Eve received in their inner man in truth, THIS..
Gen 1:29: "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, AND EVERY TREE, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
...and ate the fruit based on that, there wldve been no punishment. No law, no sin...
1Cor 15:54-56: "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law."
Nothing to say on the gospel reading. It is true we were all created fearfully and wonderfully however sin matters. These ppl were getting a second chance.
Luk 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
But that chance can and will be taken if there's not a repentant life style...
Mat 11:20-22: "Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you."
John 5:13-14: "And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."
Yes. You actually have to live right to get and keep your healing!
Rom 2:13: "(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified."
Jam 1:21-25: "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."
Ok. That's all.
