#Islam: A Judeo-Christian View

This post is a Judeo-Christian view of Islam, which is often not discussed or taught in Synagogues and Churches, and is so often confused with terrorism, and therefore, a false justification of ignorance, and bias, and hate, in speech and in actions, for which there is no justification for at all, especially per these religions.

We must all, once and for all separate terrorism from true Islam, though terrorists use our ignorance as cover, and the lack of knowledge or zeal for truth by some of their own, to deceive and as one way to recruit.

Genesis 17:20

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Genesis 21:13

And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

Genesis 21:17

And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Genesis 21:18

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

Genesis 17:20

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

This is Islam, a religion born from Ismael, son of Abraham, and also given promises by God of greatness, from a Judeo-Christian perspective, though the actual religion itself, differs. However, my point, purpose and target audience are Jews and Christians, and not so much Muslims at this time.

Like Judaism, the religion of Islam is not just a religion and culture, but is an actual people; a seed of Abraham. God and Abraham understood that there must needs to be separation (mostly because of the mothers, and not the sons). But separation was not the plan of God or Abraham, initially, and not ultimately.

Genesis 21:8

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

Genesis 21:9

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

Genesis 21:10

Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

Genesis 21:11

And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.

Genesis 21:12

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Ultimately, these two religions, and seeds, and their seeds, are still brothers, and are supposed to be at peace. The arguments or strife of which seed is the seed of covenant; Jews say Isaac, while Muslims say that it is through Ismael, being the first born, may be valid in each others eyes, but regardless, there should be peace, if not by agreement, there should be peace much like there has been peace made between Jacob and Esau, and with Joseph and his brothers that had similar conflicts because of birth order and promises or favor from God, as with Ishmael and Isaac. And I can also extend that kind of reasoning for peace, in the peace that is largely found between Jews and Christians though we disagree.

Again, from a Judeo-Christian (this time more Christian), this is one, if not the heart and soul reason, that there is so much strife in the Middle East now:

Galatians 4:22

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Galatians 4:29

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

It seems that both the sons of Sarah and Hagar now both want to cast one another out, or gain dominance over one another, at different times in history, even if that is never expressly said or overtly admitted.

The key to this all is found in Gal. 4 verse 25. In the eyes of the world, both religions, and the followers of each are the same, for both and your children are now subject to much violence, no matter who believes what, and who is the actual seed of promise.

The violence must stop if for no other reason for the children.

Yes. We must all defend ourselves, nations, the innocent and children from all violence and terrorism. And this we will do. But concerning the religions themselves, and the trueness there of of each; all three being religions of peace, even if some Jews and Christians can not accept Islam as a brother, our instructions are still this to all:

To Israel from God

Leviticus 19:34

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 10:17

For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Deuteronomy 10:18

He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

Deuteronomy 10:19

Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

To Christians from God

Matthew 22:39

...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 25:35

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Matthew 25:38

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

And finally, a word to Muslims from Allah

Anas and 'Abdullah reported God's Messenger as saying, "All [human] creatures are God's children, and those dearest to God are those who treat His children kindly." Islam. Hadith of Baihaqi

A man once asked the Prophet what was the best thing in Islam, and the latter replied, "It is to feed the hungry and to give the greeting of peace both to those one knows and to those one does not know." Islam. Hadith of Bukhari Matt

Defend. Yes. Forever, we are to be set for the defense against those that insist on offence. But we know that a part of that defence, and reason for, is Love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

And now abideth faith, hope, Love, these three; but the greatest of these is Love.

And.....1 Corinthians 13:8

Love never fails...., (and never ceases)

Regardless of your faith, who I too value my personal walk, and will defend, it is moot and vain and false without Love.

1 Corinthians 13:1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

There is no stable, long standing religion or god, that is disagreeable to the above.

Let there be peace in the #MiddleEast, and in the world, by any good and godly means possible. There is greatness there, and everywhere. If we all would only BE what we say we are, and worship, if the religion itself is moral and good at all.

To all of those of other religions, or no religion, you as well, walk according to your doctrine within, and in peace with those without, with all good care and consideration, as much as it be possible. More so than violence and strife, peace is to be pursued.

Hebrews 12:14

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Romans 15:33

Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Much Love.

Graced and Sent,
