Another attempt to implore the Church to use wisdom not just knowledge, and understand

I got an email from some "Church" folk. They correctly cited scriptures, but once again no wisdom and seeing the end from the beginning. My reply:

What does the bible say about any sin? Read Romans one. This is not a government issue. They can pass out birthcontrol as candy, and it wouldn't matter to me, Im a Christian. They can pass laws making it ok to marry sheep, it wouldn't matter to me, I'm a Christian. God hates divorce, but only allows it because of the hardness of our hearts, & in cases of adultery. But I dont see the Church standing up against divorce laws. All pre-marital sex is sin, I dont care how old you are, and yet I don't see the Church coming against legislation of common law marriages. I can go on and on. Romans one says the gospel is the power unto salvation, not legislation. Church do your job! Preach right and live by example. I'm not saying to support legislation for gay marriage, but to keep hearing about mercy for all sin except this one, I must conclude it's not righteous indignation, but bigotry disguised. Let the sin come to light. It gives us a better chance to preach, save and deliver. Sin is sin! Why dont we have legislation, making all accept Jesus as Lord? Wouldn't that solve all? Why? Because, it's not the governments job, but ours to go to the highways and bi ways. This includes to gay nation. America stands for liberty and justice FOR ALL! We cant get around that. Also, God in the bible says, I lay before you life and death; choose life. God also says, whosoever will come, let him. If the Soverign, Almighty God gives all a choice, how dare we not? Yet, do preach the gospel to all, with all power and sincerity and save souls. Then, no law will matter. Church! Do your job. Dont get distracted. Lets Go! Impede anyones American freedom, and all of ours, even our sacred freedom of religion will be in jeopardy! This is godly wisdom, now get understanding.

Thanks all,

My reply to the Presidents email.

Mr. President,

I will state unequivocally once again that we are with you. As President to all Americans, endorsing gay marriage is the right thing to do. Our constitution provides for the protection of liberty and justice for all. If the rights of any is impeded, the rights of all is in danger. All, especially the religious, must understand.

Keep doing what you are doing. It is good.

Friend

Today,I was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer:

I believe that same-sexcouples should be allowed to marry.

I hope you'll take a moment to watch the conversation, consider it, and weigh in yourself on behalf of marriage equality:

http://my.barackobama.com/Marriage

I've always believed that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally. I was reluctant to use the term marriage because of the very powerful traditions it evokes. And I thought civil union laws that conferred legal rights upon gay and lesbian couples were a solution.

But over the course of several years I've talked to friends and family about this. I've thought about members of my staff in long-term,committed,same-sexrelationships who are raising kids together. Through our efforts to end the "Don't Ask,Don't Tell" policy,I've gotten to know some of the gay and lesbian troops who are serving our country with honor and distinction.

What I've come to realize is that for loving,same-sexcouples,the denial of marriage equality means that,in their eyes and the eyes of their children, they are still considered less than full citizens.

Even at my own dinner table, when I look at Sasha and Malia, who have friends whose parents are same-sexcouples,I know it wouldn't dawn on them that their friends' parents should be treated differently.

So I decided it was time to affirm my personal belief that same-sexcouples should be allowed to marry.

I respect the beliefs of others, and the right of religious institutions to act in accordance with their own doctrines. But I believe that in the eyes of the law,all Americans should be treated equally. And where states enact same-sexmarriage,no federal act should invalidate them.

If you agree, you can stand up with me here.

Thank you,

Barack

The Good Samaritan Jesus and the Inn

In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus is ultimately that Samaritan. The wounded is the world. The inn is the church. The Good Samaritan (we'll get in2 the significance of being a Samaritan at another time) rescues and takes care of a wounded man, robbed and beaten by Satan and those He uses no doubt to steal, kill and destroy. He picks up the stranger and takes Him to the inn. While there, the Samaritan stays with the wounded to help him get better for one day or a season. He then gives money and asks the Inn to finish the care while He goes away and when He returns, if more money was paid out, He will repay any extra used for the care. The latter part of the story, where the Inn takes #responsibility for the care of the wounded; the least, is picked up in Math 25 and the story of the 3 servants; one w/ 5, one w/ 2, and one w/ 1.
This is that season of the inn or the #sons/church to finish healing/changing all creation and taking #responsibility as we wait for the return of our Good Samaritan Savior, Jesus, that rescued us and saved us that were wounded. And we all were wounded, but the complete healing comes by faith and gratitude (see the story of the ten lepers). It is not the universal season of being wounded or of Jesus doing all the care, though He's always here.
But now we that were healed are called to help others until they are mature and perfect wanting nothing. We have been given grace and abilities to start. We are to exchange them to get more to finish the job which is to save creation and make it as Heaven on Earth. God will return and give us back all we have given to aid and much more.
We can change the world. Nay. We will change the world. Even more so. I have changed the world and will not stop until I see what I saw. Join me if you have not already. It is the era of #love and #responsibility.

Amen.
