The Just Shall Live By Faith = The Faith(ful) Shall Live Just
Below you see the 4 times the bible repeats the same exact phrase. Notice. It is not just the same thought said in a different way which happens often, but the exact same sentence is used word for word, once in the Old Testament and three times in the New. So, we can see the importance God places on it; how much it is valued.
Habakkuk 2:4
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:11
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
The phrase is "the just shall live by faith." Now most know from the Faith Movement the verse "without faith it is impossible to please God" and we know that things only come by faith. Faith is the vehicle in which all heavenly things of which we have already been blessed with is transported and manifested on Earth. But in the statement, "the just shall live by faith" we ignore the fact that the reverse or converse must also be true. The faith(ful) or those with faith must live and BE just.
Transposing terms and biblical edicts do not always work and hold true, but in this case it does hold water and is true.
The word just as in justified, first by the blood of Jesus, then by actions (for that is the fullness of what Jesus did on the Cross. He did not just cover sin, He healed the World and subsequently the believer of sin) is translated as righteous or right. So it is impossible to work the godly principle of faith, with out BEing right or righteous. The prayers of a righteous man or just man avails much power. Then, and only then, can you expect and exact from God the exceedly abundant above all you ask or think. It will be according to that power that works in you that came by way of rightouesness. Seek first the Kingdom of God and all its righteousness. Blessed are those that thirst after righteousness. They shall be filled.
The enemy would love and even now loves for us to attempt to use faith disconnected from righteousness. And also for the just or righteous to not use faith to gain and retain ALL GOOD things.
Study. Meditate. Consider.
