Light BE: Location Can Matter, Too.
Isaiah 9:2
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has the light shined.
A Firm Foundation: A Necessity
Globalization by way of branching out and extending ones borders differs from upheaval and moving from place to place.
I grew up in Hempstead and went to Uniondale schools. While I'm grateful to have my borders enlarged and I'm willing to physically travel to manifest all that is for me, my base of operations so to speak will always be Hempstead/Uniondale, NY.
I can't get around sounding arrogant and conceited with the following, but I know greatness is in me and is about to explode out. Why should young people or any, have to always be satisfied with role models outside of their neighborhoods? How much more effective would it be to encourage and motivate all, but especially the youth of a city or area that isn't often well thought of, than seeing one of their own greatly succeed? And to see that person always acknowledge from whence they came, as to confirm, they can do it, too. Best yet, remain rooted and grounded in that same place, though their branches and limbs extend far. Trees can be transplanted, but it's not the norm.
For those of you who are Christian or knowledgable of the religion, think of it this way. Jesus was the greatest man to ever live. He saved the world. But in saving the whole world, He still is known as "Jesus of Nazareth". Nazareth was not well thought of, nor its residents.
John 1:45...We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46 And Nathanael said to him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?...
Again. Outsourcing differs from globalization. One transports while the other reaches far while staying near and reaches high and low, from one location; a steady foundation.
I am Hempstead. I am Uniondale. I am Long Island. I am New York. I am America. I am World.
All people have roots. Plants die when they are constantly transplanted, and their roots constantly exposed. But it thrives and soaks in nutrients to grow sturdy and strong, then grows up and out best when it remains rooted and grounded. There are some exceptions but not as many as some would like to think. Many ignore this concept and thus we have much divorce, broken promises and partnerships, church shopping and hopping, selfishness called purpose, disloyalty, unfaithfulness, and a lack of integrity all around. Then, we try to teach values and character to young people. No Good.
#Consider. This is the way to peace. Faithful over a few; what is tangible and what's in hand, then you can be trusted with more and are allowed to rule much. Most get this concept in a way, but lack the totality of the message. Most do not appreciate that oftentimes the "few" is not to be traded for the "much", rather the few is contained in the much. God deals in multiplication and exponential growth rather than subtraction, trading, and division, though sometimes these are unavoidable and necessary. When you well control a little, when the door creaks open and a slither of light is seen, many think it appropiate to let go or drop the care for the things that caused light to shine in the first place. Your first love and care is the mechanism that opens doors, like a garage door opener or remote control. You can disqualify yourself and that door can begin to slam shut, if you callously stop or trade the first for the latter. The first is in and of the latter. (Let every Christian say God bless Israel; our foundation, that allows us to love the world.)
If you love justice, continue to love it. Don't trade that love, the wife of your youth for any opportunity. But call to you greater opportunities that allow you to more greatly display your love for justice. This is integrity. I can go on with other examples, but I hope you see and apply this truth and concept to your life.
Peace In! And let it always remain for all to see.
