Confirm Former Sen. Chuck Hagel
The only difference between Jews and Christians is that Christians believe that what and whom they await is already come in the person of Christ Jesus.
Therefore, much of what I say is for the Jew and the Christian. Though it be hard to do, even if you do receive what I say without Christ in your life. (Don't get offened. I'm a Christian preacher and pastor. What else do you expect me to say :)
My reason for writing this is about former Sen. Chuck Hagel and some hesitation in confirming his nomination as Secretary of Defense because he is seen as too weak on Iran and too strong on Israel. This is the problem with automatically putting religious ideolgy over government priority.
The Secretary of Defense, not to mention the Commander In Chief, and all in American government should never give any person or nation a blank pass. Yet, I always teach having perfect integrity with religion no matter what. And both Judaism and Christianity teaches to protect and defend Israel and specifically Jerusalem. So, how do I reconcile the two thoughts of protecting and defending Israel, thereby keeping integrity with faith and doing what's best for America and the World? The answer is simple. The issue is really in that many have a lack of full understanding about the religions and Isreal.
As individuals, do we just allow anyone to just do anything. Would we just take a side based on the persons religion without hearing, filtering, then deciding what to do based on all the facts? No. Yet, some ask our leaders to do so. Half baked theology is most dangerous.
I will be brief. To the Christians, we must understand not all Israel is Israel. Read the book of Romans and get understanding. So with that knowledge, it is right that all Government should still follow what is right, and judge all matters according to fact and according to American international policy, and what is best for our nation. This is the point of Sen. Hagel and others and not an anti-Semitic view. Israel is a friend and great allie, but this doesn't mean we stop thinking. We are soverign and so are they, and there are International Global rules that govern to be considered, too.
To the Jew, consider this. There is little dispute that a man named Jesus lived, not to mention Judas or Paul or any of the Apostles. The debate is whether they are who they say they are or who Christians say they are. Therefore, especially Jesus, who is Jewish but to Israel is a false prophet and a troublemaker. So why is it out of the question just like in any nation their could be another trouble maker?
We are not speaking specifically about anyone in leadership in Israel now or in the past, only that they can not ever be exempt from scrutiny above all other nations especially at the expense of America or any other nation. Once it is conclusive all is good, then they are the great allies they have always been. The same is true of every other nation in the world. All know this that I say is true, but sometimes the religious stuff gets in the way.
Let us always consider all things. Let us always think and think some more.
You can read my other posts concerning Israel. God bless Israel and Jerusalem forever. Without which, there would be no Christianity. And let wisdom prevail, but do not confuse and trade religion for good Governmental policy. There is a way to do both.
God Bless America.
Yulanda K.
