If Our Constitution Becomes A Variable, Soon We Will Have Nothing

If we can't find a way to get compliance and make society safe using the set principles and spirit of America, then really what or whom we are dealing with are just criminals. And we shouldn't negotiate and change our Constitution to acommodate criminals.

There are those, to protect the 2nd Amendment, that want to amend some of rights found in the 1st, like freedom of the press. I refer to the recent printing of names and addresses of licensed gun owners.

I'm not sure if it is a violation of the civil liberties of gun owners, or it is covered under freedom of the press. But either way there are already set remedies in our justice system to excuse and jusify or punish. We can determine what is right based on facts and the laws already in place and then do what is necessary from there. But we are not to judge by our personal belief system, and then try to make the law align with us. Chaos. 

I personally believe the reporter and paper were heartless, uncaring and callous. But was it within their rights? I am not privied to all facts. But as said, there are remedies already in the system, if not.

On the otherside, there are those who want to protect equality, life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, which are not any actual amendment but are the primary thoughts on which the entire Constitution and each amendment is derived, by amending the 2nd.

If we amend or change either or both and there is still a conflict or someone breaks either newly written law, then what? We amend again? No.

The answer is that we should enforce the laws of the federal and local land, we should close loopholes that can be closed without disturbing our foundation, we should deal wth mental health issues and early adolescent behavior through better parenting, social work and councilling, and our education system, and we should use our justice system to sanction, fine, imprison for life and when appropiate use the death penalty, for all that break the law.

We keep making murder by gun a 2nd amendment issue and therefore making much more of the criminal. All murder without just cause by any means is against the law. Let's stop negotiating with home grown domestic terrorists and using our foundations which is what makes America, America to do it. Let's stop bargaining away ourselves, which I believe many times is the final desired result.

Whether you're pro gun or not and whether you are a true free speech advocate, screw with any right, and all rights are on the table and in danger. The founders of this country were brilliant. They started a revolution, finished it, and birthed the greatest nation ever. Did you? Nor, did I. Let us seek for the answers that are already here. You may not like it, but they are here. When dealing with a continual, massive group of people that are free and ever changing, there must be a stabilizing, consistant force.  If we are to keep the results of an equation as positive, there has to be an unchanging positive factor that balances all other ever changing circumstances. That force and factor in America is our Constitution. If that becomes now a variable too, soon we will have nothing.

Finally, I again continue to insist that in the case of the press and the murders and all in between, we must appeal to consciences. Without self restraint, no law matters, no matter how much we tweek.
