Check One. Check All!

For the most part, The U.S. Supreme Court got it right concerning Arizona's Immigration law and its' constitutionality. Obviously, the status check portion that stands is still disturbing. Any white, black or "non-Latino looking" person will most likely not get a "status check". Thus, this measure legalized racism. The only way it could not be racist or bias is if all Arizona law enforcement acted like the TSA and randomly checked all regardless of race, age or gender. (I jest, but it would be better.) But seriously. Check one, Check all! This should be the cry of all Arizonians and all Americans that still believe in justice, and freedom for all. I am vehemently pro-protection of our borders, but this is flat-out wrong and moves the country backward 60 years. Again. Check one, Check all! If we or any state is going to single out a particular race, then calling all illegal immigrants other than Latino. Move to Arizona. They will be so distracted looking for Mexicans, surely it will be the safest place for you. Congratulations to President Obama and the WhiteHouse for fighting some of the ridiculous measures found in this law, and for the most part getting a win. Keep fighting Arizonians. You can stop it at the state/local level. As one that believes we do need longterm immigration reform and realistically deal with illegal residents, I was never against all of the legislation. But the parts that were struck down and the part discussed in this blog, is as intolerable as illegal immigration itself. As said before on other subjects. Impede or obstruct any ones freedom and justice, and every ones freedom and justice will be in danger. USA 2012? Disgusting. We have to do better. Yulanda K. Jones
